What to Pack

Pack Up & Come to Iceland!

What you Need:
  • Passport

Unless you live somewhere accessible to Iceland, you absolutely need to go through the process of obtaining a passport. If you’re unsure of how to get a passport, click here to read the requirements and steps.

Although a lot of things about Iceland are universal, they have the one of the most seasonal shifts throughout the year, so planning your trip according to what season suits your explorational needs is essential.

  • Winter

The Winter season is present from October to February, harboring unpredictable temperature drops and snowy fogs. Here are some things you’ll need for this type of weather,

  • Windbreaker/Raincoat

You never know what type of weather will hit during your Icelandic travels, personally that unpredictable aspect is exhilarating because anything could be going on outside and you couldn’t know. You could always purchase something like this for a high price to make sure that you’re protected, but I suggest looking at a nearby Savers for one. That’s where I shop and I find almost everything there.

  • Chapstick

The dry climate of Iceland will dry out your lips so you need to take extra precaution by moisturizing. Chapstick is relatively easy to obtain, found at Walmart for about $3.49 (American Dollars)

  • Bathing Suit

You might think it’s unordinary to pack something like this for Winter, but a prominent part of Iceland’s culture is all of the hot springs located across the country. You wouldn’t want to be unprepared for jumping into a spa in the middle of Winter would you?
