What a Day would be Like

Deciding Where To Go

Anywhere amongst the country is a nice decision, but the capital city of Reykjavik is the most desirable place to settle down because it is where the most well-known and congregated spaces of land are located.

Morning

Once you first arrive, it is normal to feel very disoriented and lost. A good way to combat this is to make yourself more centered within the atmosphere by doing as much research and travels around your location that you can.

Pick a great place to eat breakfast so you can start eating like a local, but be prepared if you are used to American portions, as many Icelandic establishments leave Americans hungry because of how carb-packed our food usually is.

CAFÉ VINYL is a great recommendation because the food is vegan-friendly, has around-the-clock funky music, and amazing sandwiches.

Afternoon

It is very easy to finish discovering every aspect of Reykjavik early, as the location isn’t the most abundant and long-stretched, but a great way to get around is to go on a tour.

The Golden Circle is located on the map portion of this website and this tour trip is a very great decision for those looking to see every part of this ancient location. To make the trip it is only about $75 in American dollars.

Icelandic people are extremely welcoming and almost always will reach out and make you experience as enjoyable as it can be. Icelandic culture is extremely warm, accommodating, and friendly.

Night

The best way to wrap up your visit is by taking a break in one of Reykjavik’s widely known cafes. These outlets are always very calm and relaxing and are tradition for ending your day in a somber direction.

CAFÉ RIIS is a great option, labeled on my map. This place combines old and new but stays very modern. The entire place is designed with wood across all the foundations and is really appealing to consumers.

It is very easy to assimilate to Icelandic culture, there isn’t a secret code to living.

As an anonymous journalist once said,

“Of course, that’s the best way to live like a local. Throw yourself into wherever your Icelandic friends-of-friends feel called to take you. Sit in the energy, culture, pace, and flow of whatever life in Iceland has to offer you.”
